Spaying and neutering your pets is an essential part of being a responsible pet owner. Please, do your part.

How much does FFR SNAP cost?

 

Fortunate Felines Rescue will advise you of the charge(s) once your application has been approved. Cost of SNAP procedures is NOT negotiable as, the service is being provided at a significantly reduced rate and FFR will not be responsible for incurring any costs for owned cats. What is included?

 

An initial examination and the spay/neuter surgery. Vaccinations are recommended but, not required and can be included for an additional charge. Microchip is not included but, can be included at an additional charge.

 

How long does it take for the application approval and authorization process?

 

It takes about 7-10 days.

 

Who makes the appointment?

 

Once your application is approved, FFR will contact you to make arrangements for booking an appointment(s) to suit your schedule as best possible.

 

At what age can my cat(s) get fixed?

 

Spay/neuter surgery can be done as early as 16-20 weeks if the kitten is healthy and weighs at least 4lbs. If your cat is nursing kittens, we will

plan a spay/kitten surrender date appropriately.

 

How many cats can I get fixed through FFR SNAP?

 

There is no limit. All your cats qualify.

Eligibility-

 

Applicants must be 19 years of age or older and a resident of the Greater Moncton Area

 

Cat/kitten must be healthy including;

 

      * Females in heat or pregnant cats (kittens must be surrendered to FFR). If at time of procedure, it is determined cat is pregnant with viable               kittens the procedure will be delayed until such time as kittens are old enough to be surrendered into FFR care.

 

Low income family or individual

 

Exclusions-

 

Pets not eligible for spay/neuter surgery

 

       Unhealthy or contagious cats including;

 

         * Cats that are coughing, sneezing, have watery eyes, runny noses, mange or ringworm

 

      Nursing cats- FFR spay at time of litter surrender. Cat to remain indoors during this period to ensure no new pregnancy.

      If at time of procedure, it is determined cat is pregnant with viable kittens the procedure will be delayed until such time as kittens are old              enough to be surrendered into FFR care.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

 

PLEASE PRINT AND READ

1. Applicants must be 19 years of age or older and live in the GMA.

 

2. If you are using the email address of another person, they must act on your behalf by confirming the application via email, when received, and provide all other information.

 

3. The authorization to the veterinary clinic is valid for 30 days. If you are unable to have your cat(s) spayed/neutered within the 30 day period, you may request an extension from FFR Administration. If you are applying to have multiple cats spayed/neutered, we recommend the females are spayed first.

 

4. Your appointment is ONLY for the spay/neuter surgery unless, previously arranged with FFR for vaccines/microchipping. Other veterinary services require a separate appointment with your veterinarian at your cost.

 

5. Kittens must be a minimum of 16-20 weeks old, healthy and 4 lbs in weight.

 

6. Nursing mother cats – kittens must be surrendered to Fortunate Felines Rescue and mother cat will be booked for spay surgery for day of kitten surrender.

 

7. Fortunate Felines Rescue will book appointments with the clinic, which will remain confidential as per clinic request.

 

8. Veterinary clinics require a 24hr cancellation notice or your authorization will be cancelled. Contact FFR to cancel/arrange new appointment.

 

9. Cat(s) will be transferred into care of an FFR representative Monday morning by 1145am, week of surgery and remain in care till Wednesday of the same week when transferred back to owner care.

 

10. You must transport your cat to and from the prearranged location for transfer of care to/from FFR.

 

11. During surgical week, it is assumed NO NEWS, IS GOOD NEWS. If any issues arise, an FFR representative will make contact. Otherwise, there will be no updates or calls and the providing Clinic will remain 100% confidential to FFR (at their request).

 

12. Your fee is due by 6pm the Friday before transfer of care.

 

13. Proof of Income must be provided to FFR at time of application. Name and Address must be visible, SIN may be blacked out. All documentation remains 100% confidential with FFR Administration.
